I think people have forgotten how to open their eyes. All they see are white puffs in the sky and tall brown sticks with green cotton candy around them. I don't see this. I see the golden rim that highlights the edges of clouds in the morning and how the sky changes from pink to purple when the sun sets. I see the way leaves flutter in the wind and glow when the sun hits them. The little pink clover by the tip of my toe and the way the grass dances on the prairie.
What do you see? Do you see the way moss appears on the sides of trees after it rains and how the once brown trunk is now covered with green? Do you notice the maze of petals on a rose as it unfurls? Do you see the cascade of ivy creeping over a fence or how the spiky purple blossom of a thistle matches the rest of it's prickly character? I do. I see each and every one of these.
We have become blind to nature and the serene landscape that we live in. I want you to go outside for three minutes, just three, and I want you to look around and see the little things you might have missed before. Then, come back here and tell me all the things you saw that you hadn't seen before. I want to hear what you saw when you opened your eyes, for what might be, the first time.

Blue
It has been about a year we got Blue I am not sure what type of dog he is. He was very little. My mom & dad went to Wichita and got him. When they got home me and my 2 sisters saw him and ran up to him and started to play with him. My dad got to choose the name( we got to choose Sissy name.) and he decided to name him Blue.
Blue is a black dog with some white under his chest with white paws. He has 1 blue & brown eye and then 1 brown eye. ( I just remember he is part Australian Shepherd.) He really likes to jump a lot he almost jumped over my mom once. He is crazy, but he knows if we are mad, because he gives us these little puppy eyes. When we are not feeling happy he sits down on our feet, and licks our hands if we don't pet him.
On day he went across the road and got in so much trouble, my mom finally found him and we told him to go to bed. He usually runs around in the woods when we let him out, and comes back once we call him. But if he goes into the lagoon he doesn't come back for a while.

Offseason
Usually I am out having practice for a sporting event or going to a game. But right now, this is my offseason. I have no practice and no games, I don't necessarily like not getting to practice or working hard, but I like having the option to hang out with friends after school, or go home, or even take a nap. In certain ways I enjoy the offseason and I am not sure if I am going to enjoy track but I do know I can enjoy the time before track.

7th grade basketball
This is my team's first year playing school basketball. We were all excited that our coach was Mr. Lafferty. He is a really good coach. I was nervous about our first game. Our first game was against a team from Wichita. We won by a lot. We were all excited that we won the next couple games. During practice we would work hard until it was time for our next game. When the day of our tournament came I was excited. We were still undefeated. I think we were 9-0 then. We have one more game until our 7th grade basketball season is over and we are now 11-0 or 12-0. My goal this year was to go undefeated and I think that it is possible.

Baking Fail!
I love cupcakes! They are baked masterpieces. Brightly colored icing mixed with cake, and small at the same time! Ingenious! I could eat cupcakes for a whole day, and I wouldn't be bored. The variety and pleasure is heavenly. Unfortunately, I thought making cupcakes would be as easy and fun as making them.
My cousins and I decided that baking cupcakes would be easy. Why wouldn't it be? Apparently, we were really wrong. Our baking was so bad that watching us trying to bake was actually kind of scary. Eventually, we gave up and decided to bake a cake.
It didn't come out terrible. It just came out really, really bad. I dreaded even touching it, but when my cousins and I tasted it, and it actually tasted like a cake. It's appearance was the only problem. When I say it looked bad, I mean someone could have mistaken it for trash. We then did the only thing we could to make it look edible. We decorated it!
In the Christmas spirit, we decided to cut out triangles in our ugly cake and decorate them with candy and green icing, They were tiny Christmas trees! They looked absolutely great! I guess I can't really tell if they look delicious because I'm constantly comparing our Christmas trees to what they looked like before. It didn't really matter, though, because even though there was enough for everyone to have two, I still ended up with one. I was just happy that we could redirect how our baking fail ended.

Why I like dark type pokemon
Why I like dark types
I like dark type pokemon because they are cool, awesome, and very strong. Dark types at good against a lot of different types and weak to some types. Every time I have used a dark type pokemon I try to make sure that they don't faint. Dark types are a little fragile, but also very strong at the same time. This is why I like dark type pokemon.
Wonderful Watercolor
Watercolor, one of the coolest kinds of media out there. Not like social media, art media. Paints, chalk, markers, things like that. You can use watercolor is so many different ways. It's great for blending colors together and making some of the best shadows. It's easy to change the shade and tint of any color. Shade refers to different kinds of that color, such as lime green, grass green, dark green, blue green, you get the idea. Tint is how light or dark the color is, you could make a color brighter with more white or dimmer with more black and, I know this sound odd, but sometimes you need to make a color grayer.
And that's just what you can do with the color of watercolor. Using different brushes and other materials you can change the way it looks on paper. Tapping a brush to create different size dots is popularly known as splatter painting, mostly used with watercolor but can be also be used with regular paints and other art materials.
I sometimes find watercolors hard to control and you can't paint over them very well but you can do other interesting things with them. One of my favorite things to do when I'm painting with watercolor is to sprinkle a bit of salt directly onto the wet color, and when it dries it make little dots of white where ever you sprinkled it.
Watercolor pencils are also another way to use watercolor differently. By coloring with these pencils you can mix shades without adding to much water and you can better control where certain colors and shadows go. It's harder to make the color you want with only using watercolor pencils and water, so, I like to do a bit of outlining with the pencils then add water color on top of that and get extra color on my final product.

When I grow up...
When I grow up... I want to become a volleyball player. If you know me, I bet your reaction was;
I talk about volleyball all the time. My life is volleyball.
But I am not talking about ordinary volleyball.
I'm talking about Nebraska volleyball. There's a difference. I love volleyball, but I also love Nebraska. Why not put the two things I love together??
My dream is to get a scholarship for division 1 volleyball. I dream of starting and making it to the final four. I have been to the final four two times, one I got to meet my Penn-state role models which is an amazing story but that will have to wait. Instead of watching, I would love to be playing.
In order to achieve that goal, I play as much volleyball as I can. Right now in the off-season, I am currently playing club volleyball. We have won two tournaments which is really awesome, or at least to me.
I sometimes visualize my older self helping win games. I know, I sound obsessed, but that's ME.
My friends have learned to reschedule things because I can't go because of volleyball. Playing so much volleyball means I have to let other activities go. Volleyball is the same time as Wednesday night church, or Sunday LOL. Meaning the only time I can go to church is on free Saturdays.
I just hope all this hard work that I put into this dream of mine comes true.

Sissy
Sissy
Sissy is the gentlest and kindness dog ever. She more in likely could be a therapist dog except she is not trained at all. She can sit and stay for a little bit, but she is not very welled trained. She has never bitten or hurt anyone before. It is funny when she and Blue play. Sissy is a German Shorthair and I'm not sure what type of dog Blue is.
Sissy is the most beautiful dog you would ever see. She is white with brown spots and is very soft. When my mom and dad gives her a bath she just sits there and does nothing, but with Blue he will scratch and try to run away from you.
We bought Sissy from Desi parents, Sissy had a brother named Peter and a mom and dad, but they stayed with Desi. Well that is a little bit about Sissy, and my next blog post will be about Blue.

3 Strike Checklist
I'am writing about the 3 strike checklist, it is something that we have in our school. The 3 strike checklist, on the 3 strike checklist we have to, consistent punctuation and capitalization, complete sentences, directly related to promt or questions. In the 3 strike checklist it is were if you write a story hand write and there are 3 things that are wrong you have to correct the story. This 3 strike checklist goes with every class there are signs in mostly every class. I'am really not that good when it comes to this, just remember if your story is good it will get a good grade.

My Favorite Animal
There are many animals in the world. Some people like more than others. But there is one animal that I personally like the most. That is the Red Eared Slider Turtle. First of all, I love turtles in general. They are so cute when the are little and hide in there shell. And then after a while they come out and look at you. But why I like the Red Eared Slider Is because they are normally a small turtle. Also because they have a red stripes on the sides of their head.
Yes turtles are hard to take care of, but i think it's worth it. Because of how much fun you have playing with them. No other animal will take the #1 spot for best animals for me. Share your ideas with me in the comments about animals. Can't wait to hear!

Scholars Bowl
One thing I have decided to participate in is Scholars Bowl. It is an interesting activity, I doesn't take physical strength, it takes mental strength. It is a fun sport although there are many rules and you can lose on a technicality.
You have to be precise when you answer, or it could be considered wrong. Sometimes even different variations of a word can make all the difference. Once someone answered the question with 'independence clause', and got counted wrong because the correct answer was 'independent clause'. Also if you start to say one thing then change it, it will be counted wrong. I have done that a couple of times. Even if you have the right answer the second time, but not the first, you will be counted wrong and visa versa.
There are five people on a team. If one person on your team answers the questions incorrectly, then your team can't respond to that question again. It is quite frustrating, when you have the right explanation, but someone else on your team, buzzes in and gets the question wrong. That happens a lot, then again we are only in seventh grade and can't be expected to know everything.
If a team disagrees with a call that the judge makes, the captain of the team can challenge. Though usually it is not wise to challenge, because you can get in trouble for arguing if the challenge is not approached with a dignified manner. (I've gotten in trouble for that a lot.)
The team with the most points at the end of the round wins.
It is a fun and exhilarating activity. Probably one of my favorite things to do! If you like random facts, and such, then you would most likely enjoy this.

Summer Basketball
This summer I was asked to play on a traveling basketball team with Nick and Brayden and kids from other towns. I am pretty excited to play this spring because we are going tot have a great coach and great players. I am a little worried though because a good team needs to work together and I am a little afraid because I haven't played with some of these kids yet and I don't know if were going to play well together.
I am still very happy though about the opportunity to play on a traveling team. This is a pretty big deal for me considering I haven't been asked to play on one of those before. I hope that my teammates will be as happy as I am to be playing on the team.

Venus Williams is a famous tennis player but lots of people don't know that she owns a fashion line. EleVen is the name of her clothing line she created in 2007. Venus decided on the name because Eleven is better that ten meaning, always being your best. She has moto of if she wouldn't wear it she wont sell it. Venus also enjoys wearing her clothes on the court and picking her outfits our ahead of time, and has white dresses exclusively for Wimbledon. She has many clothes to suit all tennis players like tennis skirts and capris.

Illusive
I recently finished a book called Illusive by Emily Lloyd-Jones. This is one of the best books I have read, its about a deadly virus that sweeps through the world. There is only one vaccine created, and the vaccine has one flaw it makes a small percentage of people that take the vaccine have superhero like powers. The main character is Ciere she is an illusionist, that means that she can change what she looks like or what her surroundings look like. I would rate this book a 8 it has a bunch of action and choices that could change lives. If you like action and mystery books you might like Illusive.
